The battle to conquer Leukodystrophy consists of employing many weapons. Chief among these is awareness. Other important strategies involve education, research, newborn screening (NBS), and establishing a global voice.

Awareness
Our success in this campaign is totally reliant on early recognition of this disorder by those responsible for an accurate diagnosis. This allow for maximising the treatment options that families have with any of these Leukodystrophies.

Early diagnosis allows the consideration of bone marrow transplants (BMT), stem cell transplants and gene therapy. In some Leukodystrophies drug therapy may be an option.

Awareness allows all interested parties to share information and enhances the hope that families can cling to for a cure to this catastrophic disorder.
